Dental pain never comes at a convenient time. If you have toothache, a broken tooth or swelling, Laxey Dental Surgery aims to see patients as quickly as possible. We help people from Douglas, Onchan, Ramsey and across the Isle of Man get out of pain and back to normal.
What counts as a dental emergency?
Common emergencies include severe toothache, a cracked or knocked-out tooth, a lost filling or crown, swelling of the face or gums, and bleeding that will not stop after an extraction.
If you have facial swelling affecting your breathing, swallowing or eyesight, go to the hospital emergency department straight away.
How to get help
Call the practice on 01624 863422 as early in the day as possible during reception hours, and we will do our best to offer an appointment. Outside our opening hours, please follow the Isle of Man out-of-hours dental arrangements.
At your visit we will find the cause of the problem, relieve pain and stabilise the tooth. We will then explain any follow-up care, such as a permanent filling or treatment for gum infection.
Preventing future emergencies
Most emergencies can be avoided with regular check-ups and hygienist visits, which catch problems early. If you are not yet registered, book a new patient dental check-up.
If an accident has damaged a front tooth, we can restore its appearance afterwards with composite bonding or veneers, and a missing tooth may be replaced with a dental implant.
